Managing Director, Investments
Josh Kogel is a Managing Director at Journey Capital, where he has been a core member of the team since the firm's founding in 2023. Mr. Kogel is responsible for the sourcing and execution of investment opportunities across the firm's target markets, with a focus on investment analysis and due diligence, asset business plan creation and execution, performance oversight, and asset dispositions. He also supports the firm's corporate development through capital raising efforts and business strategy.
Prior to Journey Capital, Mr. Kogel was a Vice President at The Praedium Group, where he was involved in over $4 billion of multifamily transactions across the United States. As a member of the investments team, he participated in the analysis, due diligence, financing, and execution of new acquisitions, as well as the ongoing management and disposition of existing assets. In addition to his investment responsibilities, Mr. Kogel supported the firm's client development efforts, including capital raising and investor communications.
Before joining The Praedium Group, Mr. Kogel began his career at Deloitte & Touche as a Certified Public Accountant in the audit and advisory practice, where he focused on the financial services industry, a foundation that informs his disciplined, analytically rigorous approach to investment underwriting and portfolio oversight.
Mr. Kogel graduated Cum Laude from Tulane University with a B.S.M. in Finance and an M.S. in Accounting. He is an active member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC).
